It's officially official... we have state and city permits, and are all set to break ground... literally! We start the biggest part of the construction project next week - plumbing. Since our last update, we had a few changes in direction. We changed contractor teams, and we've been working to lock down the details of the construction project, business insurance, and the loose ends for our business loans. I realized yesterday that it's been a year since we first looked at the
Hi future floaty friends!
As I mentioned in my last blog post, we're committed to keeping you informed about our progress in building this beautiful new space. As of today, we're still waiting for permit approval from the state of Indiana so we can begin construction. We want to ensure we're being completely forthcoming with our progress, since our original target opening date has already passed. One thing we've learned already is that when other people are involved, we rea
Opening a small business is certainly not for the faint of heart, but even more so, it's not for the impatient. I realized we haven't shared a lot about our progress lately, and for that, I'm sorry. I promise to do better moving forward! We haven't shared much because, well, not a lot was happening. We were perfecting our skills at the waiting game though! After a few challenges, we were able to secure funding for our build-out. If you've been to a float center before, it lik
After much deliberation, we think we've found "the one". We've explored pretty much every float tank, pod, pool, and cabin out there, and we're excited to share that, as long as all goes well for the new few phases of our build-out... we'll be bringing "the Wave" to our center! You step into it, like a cabin, and the ceiling is high enough to stand, but it slopes down in a wave pattern towards the back of the tub. This gives it much better air quality control, and also keeps
In July, we announced a promotion to give away free floats and other prizes. Our first giveaway was a random drawing for anyone who RSVP'd to our Facebook event and tagged friends. The second promotion was a chance for anyone to share their story about why they deserved free floats for a year. Up first, our giveaway winners.... Selected by a random number generator, congratulations to Brandy, Jerri, and Linda! And next, the "Share your story" contest.... After reading throug
As we're gearing up for our big construction projects, we don't want to lose focus on why we're doing this. We want to help our local community, and we know that floating has so many benefits for so many individuals. With that in mind, we're really excited to offer TWO ways to try floating for free! First up: Win Free Floats for a Year! We'd love to get to know our community, and we'd love to share the amazing benefits of floating with as many people as we can. With that in m
This whole floating idea has been baking for a while. A really, really long while. I've been researching floatation therapy for almost three years. I remember that it sounded too good to be true, and even though I had never tried it, I just felt drawn to it. I continued to study for a while, and then started mentioning to my husband that we should try it sometime. He purchased some passes to a float center in Indianapolis because that was the closest place to us, and even bef
