This is what
calm feels like.
Float away stress, pain, and more.
You're tired — maybe even beyond tired.
The world is loud, your mind won’t stop racing, and your body is carrying the weight of it all.
Float therapy offers something rare: silence, stillness, and space to breathe. For one whole hour, there are no demands. Just you, your breath, and float solution that holds you gently while your nervous system resets.
How it Works

1
Spacious Cabin
At Sukhino, you'll float in a spacious Wave Float Cabin. It's 54 inches wide and 96 inches long. (That's 4.5 feet by 8 feet if you don't like math.) Most folks have plenty of space to stretch out, and the glass door lends an open, inviting feel.
2
Feel "Nothing"
We fill each cabin with 10 inches of body-temperature water and at least 1,000 pounds of Epsom salt. The high salt content allows your body to float effortlessly, relieving pressure from joints and muscles. You'll feel like you're floating on a cloud or in outer space.
3
Customize It
You’re in control of the lights and music the entire time. You get to pick the color of the lights in the changing room and inside the float cabin (or you can turn them off!), and you can choose our house music, select from a menu we provide, or listen to your own device.
Get Ready for the Post-Float Glow
First time floater-I just want to let everyone know how calming and effortless this experience is. I've had many massages but this is a total body release and the environment is so peaceful and inviting!
-Gary H.
Floating has helped me to relieve stress and relax my body. An added bonus I had not necessarily expected is that on nights after I float, I have the best sleep! This is a great benefit for me as someone who struggles with intermittent insomnia. Not only is the floating itself wonderful, but the whole space is so inviting and relaxing. I enjoy just sitting in the lounge sipping tea and reading a bit.
-Jennifer E.
This experience was one that I will continue to talk about in the future. It took self-care to the next level. The personalization options (music, lighting, etc) were "chef's kiss". The staff was knowledgeable, kind, and reassuring for a first-time guest. I will be back without a doubt.

Frequently Asked Questions
Many individuals with claustrophobia find floating to be a surprisingly comfortable experience. Our float rooms are spacious, measuring 54 inches wide by 96 inches long, with a ceiling height of about 7 feet at the entry. The design includes a glass door, allowing you to see out into the shower area. You're in complete control of your environment: you can choose to keep the door open, have the lights on, or even step out and stretch at any time. We also invite you to tour our facility before your session to familiarize yourself with the space.
Q: Will I feel claustrophobic?
Q: What should I wear?
For the most comfortable and distraction-free experience, we recommend floating nude. Swimsuits can retain salt, leading to discomfort as the fabric dries, and may introduce chemicals into the float solution. Additionally, dyes from new swimsuits can bleed, potentially staining the float room. Rest assured, our float rooms are private, and we provide all necessary amenities for your comfort.
Q: Is the water changed after each guest?
While the water isn't replaced after each session, our float solution undergoes a rigorous filtration process between guests. The solution passes through a 5-micron filter 4–6 times, followed by UV sanitization and ozone treatment. The high concentration of Epsom salt also creates an environment where harmful organisms cannot survive. This ensures a clean and safe experience for every guest.
Q: What if I can't swim?
The float solution is approximately 10 inches deep and contains about 1,000 pounds of Epsom salt, making it denser than the Dead Sea. This density allows you to float effortlessly, regardless of your swimming ability. Even if you've never floated before, the solution does all the work for you.
Q: Will my ears go under?
Yes, your ears will likely be submerged during the float. We provide a "halo" head support to help you relax your neck muscles and allow your head to float naturally. Earplugs are also provided to minimize saltwater entering your ears. After your session, we recommend rinsing your ears with a solution of 50% vinegar and 50% alcohol to dissolve any residual salt and dry the ear canal.
Q: How long should I stay in?
Our standard float sessions are 75 minutes, with an option to extend to 90 minutes. However, you're welcome to exit the float room at any time. Most guests prefer to enjoy the full duration. Plan to be at Sukhino for about 90-110 minutes total, including check-in, orientation, pre- and post-float showers, and your float session. Feel free to relax in our lounge afterward for as long as you'd like (until closing time).
Q: Can I add bath products to my float?
We kindly ask that you refrain from using any personal bath products during your float. Introducing chemicals, fragrances, or other materials can disrupt the delicate balance of our float solution and affect the experience of future guests. If you contaminate the solution in any way, we charge a $1500 solution replacement fee. We do offer a selection of bath products in our shop for use at home.
Q: Can I float with a friend/spouse/family member?
Our float rooms are designed for individual use to ensure a personal and distraction-free experience. However, we have three float suites available, allowing you and your companion to schedule sessions at the same time.
Q: I'm really tall. Will I fit in the float room?
Our float rooms are quite spacious, measuring 54 inches wide and 96 inches long (4.5 feet by 8 feet). Most guests, regardless of height, find ample space to stretch out and relax comfortably.
Q: What should I bring with me?
We provide all the essentials for your float session, including towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, earplugs, hair dryers, combs, and basic toiletries. If you have personal items or specific products you'd like to use, feel free to bring them along.
Q: My hair is dyed or chemically treated. Can I float?
If you've recently dyed your hair, we recommend waiting until the color has fully set and no longer runs in the shower. This typically requires 8–10 washes. Floating with fresh hair dye can lead to discoloration of the float solution and potential staining of the float room. Similarly, if you have a keratin treatment, consult with your stylist before scheduling a float. Please note that any damage caused by hair dye may result in additional charges to cover cleaning and restoration of $1500+.
Q: I highlight or bleach my hair. Is that okay?
Typically, yes! As long as you're not depositing color that could run, you should be safe to float, as long as you have washed any chemicals out of your hair.
Q: How often should I float?
The frequency of floating depends on your individual needs and goals. For chronic pain relief, a few sessions per week or month may be beneficial. If you're seeking stress reduction, once per month might suffice. Many guests find that regular floating enhances the benefits over time, similar to other wellness practices.
Q: Do I have to be in the dark and silence?
Not at all. You're in complete control of your environment. You can choose to have the lights on or off and select music to play during your session. Some guests prefer complete silence and darkness for deep relaxation, while others opt for ambient lighting and soothing sounds. We can also accommodate personal devices or audiobooks upon request.
Q: Why do I have to shower twice?
The pre-float shower removes oils, lotions, and other substances from your skin, ensuring the float solution remains clean. The post-float shower helps rinse off any residual salt from your body. We provide all necessary shower amenities for your convenience.
Q: Is there a weight restriction to float?
There is no specific weight limit for floating. Our float rooms are designed to accommodate a wide range of body types. As long as you can safely enter and exit the float room without assistance, you're welcome to float. Bodies hold weight in different areas, so if your weight is around the belly and bum, just drop a note in the "special requests" section when booking, and we'll ensure the solution is as high as possible so you have a great experience.
Q: Do I have to get my hair wet?
While it's possible to keep your hair mostly dry using a swim cap, the nature of floating may cause some water to seep in, and many guests find they detract from the experience. We provide hair dryers and styling tools for your use after the session. If keeping your hair dry is essential, you may prefer to wait to float another day.
Q: Can children float?
This decision is handled on a case-by-case basis. We ask that a parent has floated with us before, so he or she knows the process and what to expect in order to make an educated judgment call. Generally speaking, kids under 10 aren't ready for showering, being in a quiet space, and avoiding salty splashes on their own. After a discussion with a parent, we're happy to make that decision together. If it is agreed that a child under the age of 15 can float with us, we ask that a parent stay in the room to assist as necessary. It's important to be aware that some children (as well as women) experience some stinging in the genital areas. This is a fairly common reaction, especially in pre-pubescent girls, as well as girls and boys going through puberty due to a reaction of the hormones in the body. We provide a non-petroleum ointment that can be applied to the external organs to help prevent the burning.
Q: Will my fingers get super wrinkly?
Unlikely. The high concentration of Epsom salt in the float solution actually prevents your skin from wrinkling, leaving it feeling soft and smooth.
Q: What if I get salt water in my eyes?
Saltwater in the eyes can cause discomfort, so please try to avoid touching your eyes or face. We provide a spray bottle of fresh water and a clean towel inside the float room to help you rinse your eyes if needed.
Q: Can I float for even longer?
Absolutely! You can upgrade to a 90-minute session for only $10 more (free for members!), or you can book back-to-back appointments to float for 3 hours. If you'd like more than that, reach out and we'll do our best to help you!
Q: Can I float while pregnant?
Floating can be very soothing during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters. As always, check with your OB-GYN before booking. We have tools to support your body so you have an amazing experience.
Q: Who should NOT float?
There are a few situations in which we wouldn't recommend floating. 1) Diabetes: In some cases, floating may have an effect on blood glucose. We strongly recommend consulting with your doctor before floating if you have diabetes. 2) Open Wounds: Also note that if you have any open wounds, the salt water will cause stinging. 3) Low blood pressure: Because floating causes blood pressure to decrease, it can be dangerous for those with already-low blood pressure to float, especially when standing to exit at the end of a float. Take extra precaution, but speak with your physician before scheduling an appointment. 4) Seizures: If you are prone to seizures, we recommend avoiding floating due to the enclosed, salty, wet environment. 5) Kidney disease: It is still debated as to whether magnesium sulfate (epsom salt) is absorbed through the skin, however, many believe that it is. The kidneys then process what is absorbed, and it is known that the kidneys are responsible for processing magnesium. Consult with your physician before floating.
Q: What if I fall asleep?
It happens all the time! The water is so buoyant you’ll float safely even if you doze off. Many guests say they feel more refreshed than a nap afterward. If you don't exit the float cabin when your session ends, we may call you on the intercom, turn on the changing room lights, or knock on the backside of the float cabin from our filtration room.
Q: Can I float while menstruating?
Yes, as long as you take the same precautions you would when swimming. You are required to use a tampon or menstrual cup, and we do ask that you avoid scheduling your appointment during heavy flow days to prevent leaks. Should the water be contaminated, you may be charged up to $1500 to replace the float solution and sanitize the float room, and to cover the costs of cancelled appointments that are scheduled after yours.
Q: What's that crunchy sound in my ear?
Even when using the provided earplugs, it's possible that salt water trickled into the ear canal. We provide a solution of 50% vinegar (to dissolve the salt) and 50% alcohol (to dry up the later) in the shower for each guest, and you're welcome to swing by the center to use ours or you can easily mix it up at home. Just squirt it into the ear, then tilt your head to the side to let the solution run out.
Q: Sometimes my body twitches when I'm floating. Why?
Those little jerks are called hypnic or hypnagogic twitches—they often happen as you enter deep relaxation or fall asleep. They're totally normal and nothing to worry about! They're actually a great sign that your nervous system is finally letting its guard down!
Q: How long has floating been "a thing"?
Float therapy was developed in 1954 by neuroscientist John C. Lilly. Since then, it has evolved into a widely recognized wellness practice, with numerous studies supporting its benefits for stress relief, pain management, and mental clarity.
Q: Where can I find more about the clinical benefits of floating?
Go to clinicalfloat.org, and you'll find a plethora of research about the benefits of floating. Our owner, Kim, works directly with Dr. Justin Feinstein and the Float Research Collective to advocate for float therapy as a holistic therapy to aid with clinical issues.
