Welcome to your first float therapy experience! How exciting! Thank you for choosing to take this time for yourself -- intentionally making time for rest is trurly so important. It's why we're here, actually.

Float therapy, also known as sensory deprivation therapy, is a unique and relaxing experience where you float in a sound and light controlled float cabin filled with warm, Epsom salt-infused water. There's over 1,000 pounds of salt in each one of our float cabins. The high salt content allows you to float effortlessly, while the dark, quiet environment helps you disconnect from the outside world. You'll be able to decide whether or not to have any lights on, or listen to music. You are in control!

The water is kept at skin temperature, so you’ll barely notice it, helping you achieve a deep state of relaxation. It’s a fantastic way to unwind and clear your mind, promoting both mental and physical well-being.

Float therapy offers a range of benefits, from stress and pain relief to improved sleep and mental clarity. Whether you’re dealing with muscle tension, chronic pain, or simply need to reduce stress, floating can help ease those symptoms. It’s also known to boost creativity, focus, and energy levels. Many athletes use float therapy to speed up recovery, and it’s especially helpful for anyone experiencing migraines or joint pain. Plus, it’s a great opportunity to practice mindfulness or meditation, helping you truly relax and recharge.

As for preparing for your float session, we have a few recommendations that help make your experience as comfortable as possible. Make sure to avoid caffeine or stimulants before your float, as it may provide a burst of energy that makes it harder to relax. Eat a light meal 1-2 hours before your session. A growling stomach will be distracting, but a heavy meal might make you feel sluggish. Dress in comfortable clothing that will be easy to remove and put back on after a shower. While we offer basic haircare and skincare products in our Ready Room, you’re welcome to bring your own personal care products to use after your session. If you wear contacts, you’ll want to remove them before you float. We have contact cases and solution in our Ready Room.

Before you float, you’ll take a shower in your own private float suite and use our provided Rosemary & Mint shampoo and body wash. Rinse the day away, and get as clean as possible. You’ll step into the float cabin carefully, adjust the lights or music according to your preferences, lie down in the water, and then….just relax. Some folks meditate, some pray, some fall asleep. The time is yours. Even if you can't "turn your mind off," your body is getting amazing rest and you're still receiving so many benefits. Even just letting your eyes relax and not have to focus on anything for up to 75 minutes can be so soothing.

A light will come on in the cabin to notate that your session is over. At this point, you’ll gently get to your feet, using the provided guardrails and handles for stability. The water is very salty, and may feel slick! Now you’ll take another shower, washing off all the salt and using conditioner in your hair if you'd like.

After your float, you’ll feel refreshed and ready to take on the world—though we suggest taking it easy to extend the relaxing effects. Take a seat in our lounge to enjoy some hot tea, write in our Salty Reflections Journal, or just admire our wall of salt lamps. Take meaningful time to savor that floaty feeling, and reflect on your session.

Whether it’s your first float or your twentieth, we’re here to make sure you have the best experience possible!
